Lieber’s unethical conduct has violated our city charter and undermined the credibility of our city. Our city cannot tolerate her continuing in this manner as a potential leader of our City Council in 2002. Many of us in the community are extremely dissatisfied and disturbed by her unethical actions. For the preservation of Mountain View, we are actively working on a recall campaign ­ we need to remove her from office before more damage is done. While we gather the necessary signatures for the recall, our city must not be in the hands of someone of questionable integrity. The right to recall is the people’s remedy for dissatisfaction with their elected officials. It is built into our Constitution, to keep you accountable to us. An active effort is now underway and growing. This group is looking at all council members and their voting record. Election time is near; 11 months away. Voters will remember how you handle this issue. Do not elect Sally Lieber to Mayor for 2002. Help the people of Mountain View restore their voice in government.
