Leiber has demonstrated time and again that her true priorities are those of her own political career and not those of the Mountain View Community: Lieber has misrepresented the positions of Mountain View residents to save the open space on Shoreline parcels between California Street and El Camino Real acting in ways which undermine the city’s commitment to open space. Lieber has jeopardized the non-profit status of the YWCA by handing out campaign literature during a non-profit event. Sally Lieber compounded her misconduct by refusing to cease circulating her political fliers after being asked repeatedly by the YWCA representatives to do so while Lieber is an officer of the Mid-Peninsula YWCA organization! Lieber violated City Code Section 1003 of the Mountain View City Charter, prohibiting political activities by City employees while on duty. On June 11, 2001, Lieber contacted the President of the Mountain View Fire Fighters Union while he was on duty to seek his endorsement for her candidacy for State Assembly. I urge you to please consider our city’s best interests and elect a mayor that will serve our city in an ethical way. Please elect anyone but Sally Lieber as Mayor for the 2002 year.
